Every song in the Database was scored the same way, by the same instrument, before it ever reached this page.
None of these placements are guessed at. Each song was run through Rising Compass, the classification engine that reads a lyric for what it carries and returns a charge and a tier.
That means the Database is not a taste list dressed up as science. The taste is in what we choose to feature. The scoring is not ours to bend.
When a song moves tiers, this shelf moves with it. The record stays honest because the measure sits outside the people showing it to you.
